To conclude, there are more Esperanto speakers in countries which are rich, have internet and contribute a lot to science and culture. Similarity to Esperanto does not seem to affect the number of Esperanto speakers.

I fitted a model to this data and used it to estimate the relative frequency of Esperanto speakers in each country. Using population census data from Lithuania, Estonia, Russia, New Zealand (but not Hungary), I have scaled all relative frequencies to get the total number of Esperanto Speakers in each country. The total number of Esperanto speakers is estimated to 62983.9.

So how do we get more extremities in the world? By becoming more creative with our criteria for extremity. I have made plot of the world's highest mountains as a function of distance to the sea.
